Yeah I'm seeing your point! I like the idea of the oil filter but the air filter takes up a lot of space. I'm thinking now of trying to locate one of the smaller type that just mounts on the carb.

Anybody got one?

When I purchased my '37 it was equipped with the accessory severe duty air cleaner like yours. It was a pain in the ass to work on the engine with it in the way - had to remove it most of the time to work on the simplest things like plugs and fuel pump etc. I got rid of it and installed the air cleaner as seen in the pictures I posted....Its called 'KISS'....;)

You can find the standard air cleaner on eBay from time to time....

The fan with the long snout is possibly a truck item. If it was used in a truck, the air cleaner and oil filter would be things used for a trucks severe working conditions.
