Re: $$$$ worth $$$$ The coupes are hot sellers, I missed two on craigslist recently. One was 8k other was 9k gone within an hour of posting. Hopefully they are high enough in price that they dont end up like this coupe. Shame to start with such a gorgeous car. http://i417.photobucket.com/albums/p...trods/_573.jpg

(Referring to the chop job) The Yellow coupe looks like a nice car. Great driver! |
Re: $$$$ worth $$$$ Roadster top supports are what some call grab handles on the tops of the quarter panels. These were standard equipment on roadsters to support the top when it was let down. These parts are often installed on coupes with rumble seats as grab handles. Yhe VIN is on the frame, under the body and splash apron on the drivers side near the rear motor mount block. The body will usually need to be removed to confirm the number.

Re: $$$$ worth $$$$ Joe, Glad you bought it and are very proud of it. If this is your first one you have a lot to learn and this is a great place to start. Welcome aboard. Also your engine block on drivers side will have a number, mine was same as title and vin # Yours may not, not biggie if not. Cool car

When you bought the car did someone point to a number that matched the paperwork? They used to use engine numbers but the DMV's are getting away from that. There may be a tag installed by the DMV on the door jam. Roadster top supports, which are frequently called grab handles because they is what they are often used for, support the roadster top and keep it off of the paint when the top is folded down. They are not "correct" as something that came from the factory on a coupe but frequently installed to be used as grab handles when getting in and out off the rumble seat. Charlie Stephens |
