Re: New block update 3. Tod,
Pictures look great. It looks like you've really got a handle on it. And guys, this is coming along a lightning speed when know what this takes. Keep up the good work. This is very exciting. |
Re: New block update 3. Tod,
Thanks for the pics! A new Model A block is no longer a dream, its an impressive reality and this is the guy that made it happen. Best regards, geary |
Re: New block update 3. Looks like a very clean casting. Your moving right along at a break neck pace!

The pace is not nearly quick enough for me. I have to finish the rear of the block so I can mount a flywheel housing, and then I need to drill and ream the lifter holes, main oil galley, bore the cam and crank, and drill the oil galleys from the main galley to the crank. I also need to do the oil pump hole. A few more days, I suppose, and then I can hand it off to Prus Jr. to build for me. Hopefully, it will run right off the bat. Tod |
Re: New block update 3. I know of a good original 1928 Phaeton that could test drive that new engine for you.:D

Re: New block update 3. We had to knock off a little early today because my grandson is "graduating" from pre-school or kindergarten, or whatever it is, this evening. Since we shut down production early I had some time to work on the back end of the block. I was able to get all the holes drilled and tapped and set a flywheel housing against it. Looks good at first hurried glance. I had to leave so I will have to finish up in the morning and bolt it on. That will be the last part to bolt on before moving on to the cam, oil galley, and then the bottom.
I'll send out a round of pics when everything is bolted on including a head. Tod |

Re: New block update 3. Tod,
I got the photos when I checked my email at work; I am sitting home recovering from eye surgery and you probably got my away message. What I saw in the photos is darn exciting. That is one high quality casting and the machine work is beautiful. I can't wait to see this engine run. |
Re: New block update 3. Looking good, great job Tod!

Re: New block update 3. I must say I am truly impressed with your skills and professionalism. I can't wait to see the finished product.
