- I grew up working on Model A's and in my final year at high school my father and I built a Model A pickup out of spare parts.
We always looked out for a 1940 Ford Pickup to restore as Dad's first job in the 50's as an apprentice mechanic was to take one for a drive to run in an overhauled motor.
I've finally found one (a '41) to restore and it's a major job - but I'm up for it! Don't have much experience with early V8's, so it's going to be a learning curve....
Also own a 1967 XR Fairmont which was my grandparent's car. And just finished a 1960 Morris Minor for my wife - and the kids just love it!
Although dad died in 1998 we still have in the family his 1929 Briggs Bodied Model A Fordor (our family is the second owner only), a British 1955 Ford Zodiac and a 1948 Chev Fleetmaster which was the family car from 1962. He sold a 1938 DeLuxe Coupe to buy the Chev though.....
