- Hello, My name is Troy and I live in San Clemente, California. I am in my mid 30's and grew up in the central valley of California. I come from a "classic car" family. My grandfather started collecting old Fords in the early 50's and purchased my 40 Deluxe Coupe in 1954. He originally used it as a utility vehicle (hauling bricks in the trunk!) around Fresno, CA. Eventually, my dad ended up with the 40 as his first high school car in the mid 60's. He drove it until he graduated and the old Ford was parked at my grandparent's house until I started high school. My dad and I started on the car in 1991 as "father-son" project. It was going to be my high school car but never got finished. Currently, the car is a "Boyd Coddington" special, which I hate but was the style in 1991. I am beginning the parts collection to restore it to a traditional, period correct 50's style rod. I think this will be a really fun project that will trip my dad out when its done. Cheers!
