I'm glad to hear confirmation for David...
Assembly drawings were not released by anyone that I know of to dealers... totally different in purpose than the take apart and assemble stuff in shop manuals, and considered I would assume to be unnecessary. And of course they were continuously modified as procedures changed, so pretty hard to package... Like above-dealer level repairs there was no need to give to dealers. The late GM ones I have seen, 1960's, are very crude reproductions from what look like third generation photocopies, often hard to read and with graphics that are of lower quality than repair manual stuff. They are great fodder for restorers but don't have much to do with what goes on in a dealer service garage. |
