Hi Barners'
I suspect only a Club Cabriolet owner could answer this question. My rear seat back is defying removal. I found the two tabs that project below the cushion. They are unscrewed. It is the upper area that I can't get loose. It seems that there is a bracket running vertical on the SIDE of the cushion attaching it to the inside of the rear quarter. I can't see it from the trunk and the cushion is in the way from inside the cabin. There seem to be screws running from the wooden frame out thru the bracket. I can feel the pointy end of the screw from the trunk running horizontal. It points out towards the body metal. How do I get to the head? Boy I'm stiff from climbing in and out of the trunk. And I'm not as young (62) or small as I once was!! What am I missing? Thanks, Bruce/CT

Wish I could help you Bruce, but I have forgotten how I got mine in and out. It couldn't have been too hard or this old fellow couldn't have figured it out. LOL

Lawson,
Happy about the good back results. Guess your doctor did enough practice. My guess is that someone in the past put the back seat in their way NOT the right way. The brackets I think might be the attaching point are definately Henry issue. Hoefully a CLUB Cabriolet owner will help. Thanks, DOCTOR Bruce

62 huh? wait'll your 67... everything creaks.
If you can get at the end of the screw from the trunk can you back it out with a vice grip? I've done this with a 4 inch vicegrip with needle noses. If you start with the far end of the screw, get it backed out at least 1/4 inch, push the seat bracket out and then move the vicegrip to between the bracket and the frame. |
