Default 34 coupe door seal question

My five window 34 coupe is finally a driver and she realy runs well but it's a bit breazy in the car with the windows closed! Never installed the lower door seals but I was wondering how effective they are and if not, is there a better solution. Seams like the stock seals overhang the bottom of the door and seal against the rocker with a small portion of the rubber showing. Is that correct? Better alternative? Has anyone installed seals around the perimeter of the door? Thanks to all.

There is a lip seal at the door top and a lip seal that goes under the interior panel and seals to the rockers, any attempt to install a foam seal at the vertical edges will increase the difficulty of door closure. If you are getting wind noise or breeze you should recheck your door fit to insure that the leading edge of the door does not stick out past the cowl section. In addition you can install what is called a windlace seal around the interior perimeter of the door to correspond with your interior. This is available in lengths and can be provided by you upholstery shop.

Yes, I agree with Dick, I have a '33 5 window and have a bit of a clearance problem on one door bottom when I use the lip seal, so I abandoned that on one side, but do have a nice tight fitting windlace (that was installed when the car was upholstered) around the the other three sides which is very effective at controlling air leakage. I don't have too much wind noise, so that hasn't been a problem.

I have the top door seal installed and the windlacing is new. Door fit is tight and not open to the incoming air. So I guess I'll try installing the stock bottom door seals. Or wait til fall...leave the windows open and breathe in the fresh summer air. Thanks
