49-50 Ford car signal switch diagram needed
I have a 49-50 Ford car signal switch ( SXTS-B ) that was also used in the 48-52 Ford trucks. My switch doesn't have any wires on the terminal lugs anymore. I need a sketch so I can re-do the wires. I need to know what wires go where on the switch and where they ultimately go to. Any help is appreciated!!
Thanks,

Tyree Harris in Virginia makes a wiring harness for this switch,it is really a nice unit and has the flasher socket, indicator sockets etc. He also will send you a diagram to where everything goes on the switch to the complete vehicle but make sure you request all of this information. This is from the 49-51 shop manual for passenger cars. Hope this helps.
Sorry, you ment the switch itself...... Last edited by toby; 03-31-2012 at 09:02 PM. Reason: Wrong answer |

Thanks Toby for the pages from the shop manual. They will help. Yes, I need a schematic to the back of the switch. I think I have a nice, NOS harness for the switch, just need to remember where I put it. I have a garage that eats everything I put in it. Not that I have CRS, mind you.

37 Coupe- Thanks, that's exactly what I need to fix my switch. I actually have the NOS harness here to fix it with and didn't know what it was for! I found a pic of a harness and mine matches. Lucky me!!

Re: 49-50 Ford car signal switch diagram needed
No problem just sorry I couldn't find it couple days ago when you first asked. I like the SXTS-B switch and have used them on quite a few Fords over the years, the first was already on a 46 Ford coupe I owned,it was installed by the local Ford dealer in 1953. One was also on a 53 Ford F-100 and I was lucky to find a NOS complete one just last fall on Ebay that is on my 37 coupe. Some if not all were made for Ford by RBM here in my hometown, always thought I would find a case of them in someones garage but hasn't happened yet.

Re: 49-50 Ford car signal switch diagram needed
I had to decode mine using a circuit tester...once I figured out that I had flasher and brake input near the center, it only took me lots of pain and time to figure out the rest...
