Default Orange Co. Pancake Breakfast

I am sorry to report, my friends, that the 2012 Orange Co Pancake Breakfast has been cancelled.

The City of Orange has been tightening restrictions for years. We are no longer able to operate under their terms.

The short time remaining to prepare and advertise was inadequate. Volunteers for chair persons was lacking. The event was too labor intensive and we ain't as young as we used to be.

However, we are already hard at work to locate a new site in another city. Re-organize. Start at a later time and serve lunch. The new event will be less labor intensive, just as much fun, and now, more fun for us too. Maybe as soon as this fall. Stay Tuned .

What a shame to cancel such an historic Model A event. I was really looking forward to it again this year.

That event always got great photo coverage on the HAMB, sorry to see a historic event end. For someone on the East Coast who has followed the hobby since the early 1960's it just looked like a timeless event, I'm sure lots of the A's that attended had been to that event many times.

I have been collecting the photos of the event for several years, and look forward to the new event next year.

I was SO looking forward to this year's event. Took my '29 off of blocks from after years of storage, and prepared it for the road. How can I help get the Pancake Breakfast going again? .......

OK John & Jim, I'll be too busy to serve you pancakes at my house that day. Jim, Yes the avocados are ripe, you've already inventoried my stuff and planning the "hit" while I'm working that day.

The rest of you, cheer up. We are working on the new meet and hope to see you there later in the year.

Your comments are much appreciated and encouraging.

This one of the best shows of the year if not THE best in my book, I was really looking forward to this year. The people and cars are always first class, the city of Orange made a HUGH mistake, I hope you can make a fall show happen.

Hopefully someone has contacted the local paper or tv station to explain WHY the show isn't being held this year, and to put blame where it belongs. JMO
I always looked forward to the photos that were posted of it.

Contacting the local station is a great idea. Politicians need to know they are being watched, and local input can often spur them to do the right thing. I would think 50 years of trouble-free use would count for something! That location is great, but there are others around.
