Default Burtz Block Updates

I thought it was time to do a brief update on what is going on with the Burtz Block operation.
1. The new 6.5 High Compression Heads are in the distribution warehouse in Hawthorne, CA, and are being shipped to customers via UPS flat rate. For those that want their new heads shipped with their "New Engine Kits", a stock of heads will be delivered to our distribution warehouse in Franklin, KY where we keep our Burtz Block inventory.
2. The new heads have 3 surface bumps in the cast iron on the upper surface just like the original production heads. These 3 bumps are where in the original heads, core support wires protruded through the upper surface and these can be ground down to give the head an original appearance. Refer to the “Builder’s Guide” - Section 15 - Detailing the New Engine for Judging. This describes how the bumps need to be ground to pass judging standards.
3. The "Builders Guide" has been updated recently by Terry. The latest revision is dated 20 October 2022.
4. We are in communication with Paul Shinn and are working with him on his two block kits. Paul, will be meeting with Tim McMaster at Hanford Auto Supply to have his engine kits evaluated and assembled. We will keep this subject updated and will advise the findings in concert with Paul. Tim has not yet measured or assembled one of our new Engine Block Kits", however he does have three that he is planning to build.

I'm looking forward to see his take on the Burtz Blocks.

Does he drive a Model A and is it his McMaster Carr?

If you know, you know. Google.com is your friend here.

He’s down for a bit with recent surgery.

Glad to hear that Paul Shinn decided to let someone actually look at the blocks he has to see if there 'really' was an issue.

I think it was more of a scheduling problem than "deciding". He's always struck me as straightforward and wanting the best for the hobby.

Model A fans should keep in mind that Paul works a regular job with long hours.
