1933 dash cluster machined cover reproduction?
Is there a quality manufacturer for this machined-turned panel cover?

There are several out there that can refinish the "engine turning" on these dash inserts, If you do a "search" here on the barn I know "several" have recommended and used a company/guy that is at Hershey every year and I "think" is actually a Buick specialist up in the Northeast???? But the search will also show a few others as well!!!

Re: 1933 dash cluster machined cover reproduction?
Lets play before you have a meltdown so you understand the process. If you have a
drill press clamp a piece on aluminum chuck up a pencil with eraser. Mark out lines on the plate with pencil/sharpie. Try fine valve grinding compound on the eraser and lower the quill now you should see a pattern on the work then go to the next mark. All marks are overlapped. Chucked wood dowels work fine. If you have access to a mill that 10 times easier. I say this cause its nice to know how its done. play with it sam |

Thank you, HotCoupe. You would have made Henry grin for sure. I am presently w/o a V-8 or '4'. Wanted to be sure these panel covers are still available.

Re: 1933 dash cluster machined cover reproduction?
Its been several years but I looked in a hot rod magazine and saw custom, multiple gauge machine turned panels for '33's. I called them and asked if they could make a stock panel. They said yes. For under a $100.00 I had a perfect, stock '33 insert panel. -For what its worth.

Nice work, need to try it for a piece of trim on an old 1950's era Craftsman Joiner.

Carl, the chrome plating is the last step in the process.
