Default This A is snowed in

I had to shovel my way into this shed today where I keep an A.Actually I have a water pump in a hole five feet under the A.In the sub-zero weather I like to make sure the light bulb is still going to keep the pump from freezing up.My tenant said I should get a picture of the snow in front of the A while I was there. That padlock is 46 inches above the ground. There is so much snow around that shed that I bet it is 20 degrees warmer inside. It is exactly zero on the outside of the shed right now.We were joking about taking that roadster for a ride.

I guess all of us in the midwest and the northeast are in the same boat. I haven't had either of my antique cars out all winter. I do, however, have them both hooked up to Battery Tenders. They'll be ready to go whenever we get rid of all the snow and salt on the roads.

Sarah is snowed in now also, I got 8 inches plus over the last 24 hours. Lucky for me though, Marion, Carol, Annie, Karen, Katherine, Debby, Monique and Kathleen have 4X4s.

And in Canada this evening minus 29, 30 plus inches, 50 mph winds and police have ordered roads closed.

Until today, it has been very warm in Colorado, with 60s and 70s most everyday. Apparently all the snow is north and east this year.

Not all of Canada is covered in white stuff, I took the wife out to dinner in the coupe for Valentines and it was warm enough Sunday for a windows down tour in the sunshine. Balmy!

I was home to Cow Hampshire this weekend - just in time to help the wife snow-blow ANOTHER 12 inches of snow from the driveway - this after the 6 inches or so she got on Wednesday-Thursday.

We now have just about exactly 36 inches of snow on the ground. I can tell as my fences around the garden are 36" and I can barely see the tops.

The roads are problematical as the road plows leave the snow "as found" at the side of the road - and the snowbanks are about 6' high. Leaving one to carefully "nose" out into the thoroughfare as best as one can - and hope that a car approaching isn't coming too fast and incapable of stopping.

And that's when one is walking - when one is driving, it's worse!

As for myself, I made my work excape Monday to Beaumont, TX which is having it's cold spell with today's high about 45F.

These poor Southers, they haven't a clue.

I still like them - like children they are.

Kidding about the children part. The like part can stay as it is.

Highest point of my '31 pickup is 70 inches, with those 16" rims on it. We've had 78.6 inches of snow here just North of Boston, with 65.6" that fell in only 16 days. Boston has spent over 35 million dollars already removing snow and the trains are still stuck. I can't remember when the last time the temp rose over freezing. All you guys down South yuk it up. We deserve it. Everything you see in my avatar would be completely well blanketed over if my A was out there. She's hibernating in the barn, safe & sound.
