I use one now and also have a 2 setup may try agian someday. BUT if I didn't have any I wouldn't buy any, use the 94's. Carburetors over 50 bucks are out of my league.

I can only speak for myself, but the 94's I've had all ran like crap. I finally went with a 97 from Uncle Max and haven't had to touch it in almost two years.

Worth every penny.

I have 2 97's on the 39 and 3 94's on the motor in the 40 (the one in my avatar).
I'm no expert by any means, been messing with these things for only a couple years but I tend to like the 94's a little better. I didn't think the 94s were any tougher to rebuild and it seemed like it was easier for me to get them running right. Maybe its just the cores I used but my 97s always have leaked some, getting worse it seems the more I drive it. My 94 are still preety fresh but so far no leaks. From a purely looks aspect I prefer how the 97s look.

On a stock engine 94's work fine.
On a performance engine, 97's or better, 48's perfom far better for one BIG reason....They have a bigger venturi.
Floatless bored out 48's can be made to work better than fuel injection on 100% nitro.
I have never seen anyone mention one of the biggest reasons for using any Stromberg carb on here though..THEY SCREECH WHEN YOU OPEN THE THROTTLE.
It sounds like something is happening...94's et al sound stock..Wimp carbs.
See Uncle Max for 48's (cheap plug)

This is all I have of my next engine. I still need everything that sits below this ha.

With that 4 setup, you will most likely have dehydration and asthma at high rpm.

That being said, when did the 94 come along?

I've had flathead engines back to '37 models and none of them had a 97. They all had 94's on them.
Later 38 was the first 94 made by Chanler Groves from then on all Fors had 94's. Walt

I run one on my 35 PU.
