Default Repro '40 Bumper Wing TIps

I recently went to get my '40 wing tips rechromed and the estimate I received was about $100 more than the cost of the repros advertised in the Mac's catalog. My question is, are the repro's good quality?
Thanks

They are made somewhere besides here , so you can imagine what good quality they are , a real crap shoot.

I'd spend the extra hundred; if your doing them, you must be near done. Don't back off now.

In 1978 I had my 40 bumper ends "show" rechromed in the USA and they still look btter than new. $100 is nothing when your building YOUR car.

The ones on my '40 have been there since the eighties, and they are repos. Very nice chrome. I purchased them from C&G, whoever their supplier is?

The repop wing tips only fit on orginal bumpers. They do not fit on repop bumpers.

Pat, 01Aford is 100% correct in that the reproduction tips do not fit the original bumpers worth a darn.

I tried to save some money and purchased alot of my rubber seal parts from MAC's only to find that NONE of it fit correctly! I then repurchased the parts from Carpenter and Drake. The fit was great. before you buy the tips, see if you can return them, if so check them out imediately upon receiving. Also my buddy bought China chrome from Sacramento Vintage for his 65 p/u 4 years ago, still hasn't been on the road yet but the chrome door handles turned black in color.
I would strongly suggest rechroming or buy from American name you trust.
