Flat one piece windshields

My personal preference on the early cars and especially the pickups are the flat-one piece windshields. After going to the split windshield in 1937 though the 1947 pickups I wonder why Ford went back to the earlier windshield on the 1948 pickup. I believe it had a 5 year run until the curved windshield in 1953.
