I need to replace a toggle shaft tube on an emergency brake carrier. Bratton's suggests swedging it on with the tool used for hub bolts.
Has anyone done it this way? How big a press did you need? Alternate method is welding; should it be welded all the way around or at tack welds in 2-3 places sufficient? Anyone have any positive or negative experience with either method? Or with quality of part from Bratton's, Snyder's or other supplier? Thanks! Beast3 |

We installed a couple dozen of them the other day. Had never swedged those before. Got a 1/2" drive socket extension, put it in the hole, a couple pumps on the press and they turned out perfect!!!! looks much better then welding and MUCH easier (as long as you have a press!)
