Default Painted my F-1 Today

All i can say is Wow! Painted the 48 today, been getting it ready for months. Put the base on yesterday and the clear today. Used a Sata 3000. That gun is amazing! Went on like glass.PPG Hot licks red. I'm very satisfied with the results. Now i just got to paint all the black components. Then it's downhill from here! Woot Woot! Ken

Ken, real nice work! Good for you, what a feeling it's going to be when you get to actually start putting it together and admiring your work.... keep it up and keep the photo's coming. I see the prep work in the garage sometimes, that is the most work of all.

Wow, for another $5.00 you could have painted it bright red. LOL Great looking job.

Great job. I like the frames you made to hold the fenders for painting.

I too like the frames, I found one of the main problems is getting the item you want to paint in the right position so you can reach all of it in one pass. Nice looking paint job.

Looks great, are you going to color sand and buff, or let it go as is ? Did you paint under fenders and hood, etc., prior to finishing the outside ? Looks like the hood shows some masking under. Thanks Zeke

Fellas, Thanks for all the comments. I thought long how i wanted to seperate everything for the complete resto. I was trying to get the right height with the frames which really helped out.I have a couple of runs that i need to water sand then buff, but other than that,i'm leaving it alone. I painted one coat of base on the underside of everything. But on the inside of the bed and hood underside i finished ,then back taped. Thanks Ken
