48 mercury door
What do you guys use to pull the doors shut on your cars? It seems like using the door handle would not be good and the arm rest is only attached to the door panel.
just wondering |

Re: 48 mercury door
Many different kinds of door pulls have been used over the years including straps and handles. Not sure what era vehicle you are references but, there is nothing wrong with using the door handle to close car door. Arms rests were not designed or installed to be used as a "door pull". In fact many vehicles only had one arm rest and that was on the driver side. None on passenger side. Example: 1940 Ford coupe.

Re: 48 mercury door
My car isn't exactly what you'd call a restoration, but I used a pair of 63 Galaxie armrests which are bolted to the door itself through the door panel.
