Default B Carb question

I am having a problem with the float valve sticking closed in my B carb which has the double ball Grose jet without the return spring and gravity feed system, not an uncommon problem from my past experiences.
As much of a nuisance as this is, I have also had the valve stick will driving, a dangerous situation depending where this happens.
I spoke with Dave Renner this AM and he informs me this type of valve is the only option for the B carb and that Bill Stipe now makes them, a name that does instill confidence.
However does anyone know if there is a conventional needle and seat that would fit? remembering that the earlier Zeniths have a larger thread size.
Thanks in advance Brian T.

I had the same problem with the gross jet valves. I found a needle valve on a old B carb I bought at a swap meet. Call www.modelA.org or Berts Parts as I believe they own this website now. They rebuild the B carb as some other vendors do now. Ask around somebody will have one. I dont believe the B is the same size as the A valve.

I had to take the old needle, chuck it in a drill and polish the groove out of it. Then I slowly spun a drill bit in the seat. Then I tapped the needle in the seat a couple light taps to "seat" the needle. Has worked good since.
