Bolt buster /induction heater

I know a few people that swear by them and so I purchased the same model. Personally I’m not that impressed. I have my own way that I have noted several times on here that works better than the induction heater for me.

Old ac/dc stick welder will heat the stud too, if held on the stud. Newc

I don't have a ac/dc welder nor a torch to heat up frozen parts, so I purchased one (a year ago.) It definitely works well and I'm glad that I have it.

I bought an Induction Innovations - Mini-Ductor Venom HP (MDV-787) several months ago. Used it with great success to remove exhaust bolts. Worked great for me and was happy with the results. Not cheap but saves a lot of time drilling out broken studs or bolts. Nate Anello

I did use mine on 3 studs on a Flathead I’m working on. I heat it up until it gets red, then throw on the snap on stud remover, it seems to work fine.

One of the best tool purchases I've made in the garage. I bought the Bolt Buster brand. Can't recommend highly enough.

I like my bolt buster. It'll heat a flathead stud nut to red hot in 15 seconds. It takes a bit longer to heat up an inner dual nut for a 1.5 ton rear axle.

Bought a BoltBuster last year
Used it about 4-5 times, worked great, then it quit.
Now it's a Won'tBuster.
Impossible to get them to respond about warranty return.
This post reminded me. Trying again today.
Definitely don't recommend.

Dang. I'm really bummed to hear that. One of the reasons I bought it was because it seemed like their warranty was pretty stout.

Hello to all....I bought the Bolt Buster 1800 and it worked perfectly to remove all 48 hex nuts from the flatheads. It did quit working once (I "think" I got it overheated, because they state 2 minutes of use then 2 minutes of cool down period). I went onto their web-site and followed the instructions for getting an RMA (Returned Materials Authorization) Form, filled it all out via. the computer and sent to them. They responded right back with the RMA number and I noted that number when I shipped the Bolt Buster to them. About 2 weeks later I got the repaired and working unit back.

I have had no problems with them I and I do recommend the Bolt Buster 1800.

I have the Mini Ductor Venom. It has saved my butt many times and on Amazon you can buy up to 24" Leads to wrap around large objects.

Same story for me. Mine lasted about six months with minimal use during that time. The thought of one is nice but just not as reliable as the old proven methods.
