Default Correct front seat springs for 28 OCPU and 29 roadster

Could someone post a picture of the hook on the seat frame that goes into this loop that is supposed to hold the seat steady? Picture is the seat platform for the 28 OCPU.

My current seat lacks the hook so the seat moves around and tears the upholstery. I'm about to get a new seat cover installed and don't want the new one to get messed up and have a loose seat.

How about these holes in a 29 roadster seat platform? Are they for a hook on the seat springs as well? Same problem here. The seat slides around and damages the edge of the upholstery.

Default Re: front seat in 28 OCPU and 29 roadster

I asked Carline.Inc(wholesale maker of seat springs and Model A sheet metal) here in Beaumont,TX about this and Paul said he has only made this type of hook only one time in over 20 years of making seat springs for many of the Model A suppliers. It is a PITA to have a loose seat!

My brand new seat springs for the 29 roadster from LeBaron Bonney don't have the hooks either.

I'll post a picture of what Paul does for me in a few days.

Does anyone care about getting seat springs made correctly? Apparently not many!

these pix may be of some help. interestingly, mine does not have a corresponding hole (or loops) in the seat riser for the hooks (mine is a Jan 28, body #SFA52) maybe on the later models, they simply slip behind the front rail of the riser (w/ some effort i may add!)
