All you Minnesnowta A owners taking your cars out tomorrow?
I just got a message from my son who lives near the Twin Cities (Farmington) and they got 20 inches of snow toiday and the chill factor overnight will go to MINUS 45.
I hear the Giants are stuck in KC and cannot get to the Vikes game as of now that they are to play in MOA stadium tomorrow. I wonder if the guys in the Twin Cities area are going to take their A's for a ride tomorrow? We have about 6 inches on the ground right now in GB and another 6 to go. If my coupe was running this would be an AWESOME time to take it for a ride. I do have an original unused set of Weed chains for the driving wheels but I suppose that would be cheating. Yep, we got it good overnight and today. The south side of the house roof has about 3 to 4 feet of snow on it and it's got me worried. If the wind ever stops then I'll start blowing out the driveway, but for now I'm stuck in the house. I shoveled enough in the back yard so I could get to my old plastic garage to knock the snow off the roof, but I won't have to worry about doing that any more. It's collapsed flat! Luckily my Model A took up residence in it's new shelter made of metal, so it should be dry and safe til spring. Heck, spring is only 5 months away. LOL

We received about 10" and 50MPH winds yesterday, quite exciting! I did not take the A out today as it is 0 degrees with a windchill of 40 below.
But we were out yesterday in our daily driver, a Ford Sport Trac and pulled a Chevy PU out of the snow!

Used to take my Tudor out in the deep snow all the time, great fun with tire chains and unstoppable, but now with all the salt I don't go near it.

Well yes I did! Just so I could say I did! I drove it to town Sunday afternoon before the plow trucks started dropping salt and topped off the tank with non-ethenol. I had the side curtains on and it was not that bad.....1929 Phaeton.

Yep, I know how it feels to have the roof cave in. I didn't get everything out before the snow hit, but at least the Phaeton got moved 2 weeks ago. That white pipe laying on the trailer is the top ridge pipe. |
