Re: points 46 ford
First....let's not confuse me (Mac VanPelt) with MAC'S ANTIQUE AUTO PARTS. The points we stock are as follows:
18-12107-S point set for 1932-36 early (I have a mix of NOS and NORS, which are generally old Standard or Sorenson product). These were for the most part removed from their old cardboard packaging due to the condition of the cardboard boxes. I've sold plenty of these and all worked fine. 78-12107-S point set for 1936 (late) to 1948. These are made in the USA and are brand new. I have noticed that some of the points require slight bending for proper alignment when installed. There were tools for doing this to point MANY years ago, so it's not a new phenomonem. I purchased some Echlin points and found the same issue with them, so apparently it's difficult to get the exact angle for each set when mfr'g.

Re: points 46 ford
I bought Echlin points from Napa 3-4 years ago, there was no threads for the screw that hold the band. I took them back, they got another set from there warehouse for the next morning, I opened them up there on the counter, there was just little scratches where the threads should be. I went to another parts store and bought Standard brand, perfect. SO, that's what I think about Echlin. Walt
