There were some faulty pitman arms being sold. We had a car club member that ended up in the ditch when his pitman arm ball popped out. There were some that were bolted and others that were "welded", stay away from the welded version.

Why engage in supposition and conjecture, guys? It doesn't help the hobby we all enjoy.

Lets wait for the facts of what caused this awful accident, if they can be determined.

Precisely. We can all be saddened and send our condolences. No need to conjecture what went awry or to pick a fight.

Very sad for the loss of life, my condolences are for their family. I understand the need to know what caused the accident but honestly the examiners are not vintage car people and we may never know.

I'm less interested in what caused the accident than in knowing why this car erupted into such a conflagration.

This happened last year in Houston. There might be a lesson in these accidents for all that are growing old. I personally have decided to listen to my adult children when they tell me it's time to let someone else drive. Not saying age had anything to do with these accidents. It's a tough thing for their family's to deal with.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to those left behind. No matter who it was. they had friends and family who are in shock and grieving. It is a loss for the community.
