Default 94 carb question.

I can pull the carb bodies off my roadster and leave the throttle bodies in place.

When I pull the carb bodies, I can see some wetness in the chambers that the heads of the power valves sit in. I can also see some wetness on the heads of the power valves.

Is this normal? I am thinking the heads of the valves and the chambers should be dry. Does dampness indicate a leaking diaphragm or a incorrectly seated gasket?

I have the bodies filled with fuel sitting over a spare pair of throttle bodies. they are bone dry so I will leave them for a while and check for any leaks. Without the powerful vacuum generated by the engine, though, I don't know how well this will work.

So, those chambers, then, should they be dry?

I borrowed this image off the internet, the chamber is the uppermost round area in this pic.

Should be dry.

Try pushing down on the button on the top of the PV shaft to flex the diaphragm to see if that starts it leaking.
