Does anyone know where I can get a functioning 1958 Ford speedometer?

speedometer needle is not visible. When I spin the knob on back of speedometer CW or CCW the hand will not show, so I suppose the problem is not the cable. When I had a 1958 Ford as a teenager, I could spin the little know where cable inserts at back of speedometer and the hand would jump up from the zero MPH side.

Get a copy of Hemmings and look for a repairman in the Services Offered section.

Or Google Speedometer repair

a couple of things, the needle might be stuck or wedged at the bottom, the needle has fell off,you will need to get the speedo head out of the speedo housing and then turn the speedo shaft to see what is going on

57's are the same and they show up on ebay quite often. Better choice would be to send yours out for a rebuild.
Chances are anything you buy will need a rebuild anyway.
I use APT Instruments (www.gaugeguys.com) they do a great job and have a large stock of the old parts needed to fix old speedos.
