I have seen this car up close and assumed it was a kit car.

Looking at the camber of the rear wheel and what looks like VW hub caps makes one wonder if it is on a VW chassis. Also note the covered grill area.

I think you could be correct. I believe it has VW turn signal lights on the front fenders also.

I'd be way more interested in the '56 Fairlane in the background!

having committed Model "A" fraud, maybe I should show the origin of this pic. I was the victim of circumstances:

Great pics....brings back memories. Having lived in Puerto Rico for many years and seeing what salt air can do to cars, I'm amazed that these old ones are not totally rusted out.

Isn't pic No. DSC-0792 a 2CV Citroen and not a Puegot?

Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

Surprised that the worker's paradise can afford such extravagance.

I had a friend who got convinced he wanted a VW conversion to a Jeep. A "Veep" he called it. Kit car total price in 1978 about $1800. You still had to provide your own engine and VW running gear. For that price then you could buy a VERY good condition CJ2A.

Today the used Veep might be worth about $1800? Meanwhile a similar good condition CJ2A would run about $5000 minimum.
