Trying to fit a tailpan on my 37. One side is coming together pretty good. But the passenger side is a different story. I dont know if you can see it in the pic. But the seam is way off. Any suggestions? Thanks Bruce

When I did mine had fender in place to help with the proper lines and also the deck lid. I was able to buy this Bob drake tailpan and tool tray off ebay which fit a lot better, I sold the ems I had. Zeke

This is what it looks like with the trunk lid on. These are bad pics. I'll get some better ones tomorrow.

Zeke is correct. you need the fenders and maybe even the running boards ( to ensure correct fender rotation) to align the panel and then you fill in the gaps if necessary.

the pic with the trunk lid shows a lot, this area can be confusing where the tp mates with the 1/4, but your not far off

Looks to me like the part fits, but the car does not have enough "to get there"...and what is there on the car...needs more attention.

To echo what has been said above, I installed EMS tailpan on my 35, found I had to install fenders to ensure best alignment. The rear end of my car was pretty messed up so I had to tweak some of the original sheet metal to make it all come together.
Lets face it even from the factory these old Fords were not perfect in terms of everything being symmetrical so it is not surprising that replacement parts need minor fixing.
To support EMS, I have been very happy with their panels, particularly the tail pan and tool tray.

I restored cars for over 20 years in Prince George B.C. and used EMS parts always if they had what I needed and never had a problem with fit that minor tweeking didn`t solve. If you have a problem try phoning or emailing your concerns. I do not agree with useing this forum as a weapon
