Re: USA made ignition points.
Tim,
We use a ton of NAPA Echlin heavy duty points , best out there and were made in the USA for a long time , hope they still are.... However Standard Motor Products bought Echlin ( Dana) and sometimes we get some mis boxed ugly parts from the Standard cheaper line up..... The early Ford CS47 is the crab poits and they are a super product , but they dont make the earlier strap contact point..... |

Re: USA made ignition points.
There is no guarantee that NAPA's parts are made in the USA.
I bought my points from Fred, Barnfind08. They are as he says, NOS or NORS, made in the USA quality, not offshore junk. |

Re: USA made ignition points.
I have been told by a wholesaler that Echlin brand points are now made in a new plant in Puerto Rico, which probably can carry a Made In USA label.

Re: USA made ignition points.
Am I missing something here? Barnfind08 has NOS Ford SCRIPT points, case closed problem solved. Most Fordbarners are in their 60's, two sets are more than a lifetime supply, forget O'Reillys, forget made in Mexico, Puerto Rico, Tiawan, China, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and a third world hell hole to be named later. Then again you might be able to save $5 on the O'Reilly points assembled by a couple 5 year old girls. There are plenty of other reasons you might get stalled in traffic, why add one more??

Re: USA made ignition points.
Inspect NOS points closely. I have seen several that had a tiny speck of rust on the spring strap that caused the strap to break in use.
Of course NOSPARTSMAN is 100% correct, why use anything else when NOS is still available? |

Re: USA made ignition points.
Id addition to Fred at SSO, where I got my NOS points, there is a guy at Hershey that has NOS/NORS ignition parts. Can't recall the name but one of the Fordbarners may know who he is. If I find it in the program, I will post it.
