Default crab cap and rotor

Do you guys think a crab dist cap 20 bucks and rotor 8 bucks is worth buying from Mac's? Napa wants 35 for cap and 24 for rotor. Walt

Walt
Napa offers a discount if you have a AAA membership card.

The last ones I got from Macs were US made, dunno if that still applies.

I don't think Walt has a AAA card. He has barely been able to get out of his driveway all winter. LOL

Well John, it so happens I do have a AAA card. Never had AAA until my wife went to work on the turnpike and she was driving all over the place. I'll see if Napa will oner that. Walt

Dunno about what Mac's is selling, but I'd favor a local source so I could inspect before buying. One of the vendor's (not Mac's) sold me an absolute crap crab cap and rotor. I ran it for a short while, until it totally failed with cross-fires. Then I bought locally, and got great parts, even brass terms in cap. (Standard, SMP packaging) From the experience I had, the price difference wouldn't matter - the vendor parts were that bad. JMO

Well, as time goes by vendors change and so do product specs. However, I have a Mac's cap and rotor going on 12 years with no problems. How that relates to product offerings of today is anyone's guess.

Walt,
Latest ones from Mac's ( in late December ) were fine. Brass all the way,
no fitment issues.

Unless the local NAPA is actually helping you with parts and problems, go on-line. I'm not a fan of showrooming - if the locals bring value, they need to be paid.
