Take a 1/4 in screw driver and pry the frame up a little bit at the top then a little at the bottom. Between the glass and the frame it will move and become loose, then pull it out. Hope this helped. A little WD-40 will help loose it to.

Re: another step...removing glass '40 ford
Remove it carefully because the frames bend easily. Try not to bend the frame or refitting it and having it work properly will give you fits. They are a tight fit especially with a new rubber seal. Been there.
If the glass is really stuck tight lay the assembly flat in a soft cloth covered bench top and lay a small block of hard wood on the glass. Now tap the bock outward all around and both sides of the glass trying to force the frame from the glass. As previously stated heat and soaking can be helpful.

I run a knife around the edge of the frame where it meets the glass. Do this a couple are three times. I then hold the glass with leather gloves and bump the metal frame on a wooden work bench. Do one end at a time switching one to another. Holding the glass will cause it to loosen each time you bump the frame on the bench.

Just had this conversation on a later model Ford.. He held the glass in a vice between wooden blocks, Then use a heat gun on the frame.. It came right out
