Default Distributor Help..Bubba/Anyone ?

A couple questions about the pictured distributor. Looking at it from the front, what are the dual point gaps set at and are both points set SAME gap ? I think that this turns counter clockwise, so if points set different gaps...left or right gap looking at front ?

HV-12 distributor.

HV-12 distributor.
Just did one last week and have another laying on the bench.
The V12 distributor is basically twin 6 cylinder ignition systems. We adjust each side seperately on a machine using a dwell meter . Then adjust the sync screw on the side to properly space the pairs the correct degrees apart.
The twin coils each fire six cylinders as well, pretty nice unit over all . Has the same type advance as the Ford helmets ....

Actually we dont use gap, we set each set for 36 degrees of dwell on a dwell meter at 600 rpm....

.014-16, set to the bigger so rubbing block burnishing keeps it in range. There is a ruler timing method in the '46 F-L-M maintenance book. Each point operates like a common single point system, unlike the Ford setup. Ruler timing setup covers both point sets, you set one, go to the second setting, and set that by a screw hidden under the timing scale. All final adjustments are done with coils in place as they exert pressure against the breaker plate assembly and can shift its position slightly.
Get that book! It is extremely helpful. I think DG-068 at C&G Ford is the repro version, with added specs to cover '42-48. $10 but worth its weight in gold.
