Default Correct 32 ford engine color

Greeting ford barners, I would like to know the correct engine color for 32 ford. I know it's green, but what shade or green, what's it called. Do they sell it in a rattle can? Thanks all. G-man

For what is worth, I have always had better luck with a brush than a rattle can on engines.

Pretty sure its called Ford green, now Antique Ford green. I also like the brush on better. It seems to have a better shade of green but that could also just be me.

If you are not looking for 'perfection', Hunter Green in rattle cans is pretty close.
If you want some brush-on, PM me. I bought more than I can ever use. I'd have to look up where I got it - I think either LB, or maybe Bill Hirsch.

It's been my understanding that engine paint, unlike body paint, was not an exactly formulated and controlled product. It was probably purchased from different vendors based on cost. If someone offered paint that kind of looked half right at a lower price, that was the color that was used until the vendor mixed up a new batch or a cheaper vendor came along. Like I said, that's MY understanding. Most of the restoration vendors sell the "correct" color, but you might find some more to your liking than others.

I bought green rattle from Early V8, not a great pic but you can sort of see the shade. Ken
