The Model "A" scale models picture thread!
So, like many members of this forum are large model "A" enthusiasts from an early age, I thought it would be fun and nostalgic post some pictures of these models and can also tell a story, I hope everyone be excited and remember those years of the childhood...

I remember that advertisement. I wish I had photos. I had every Model A body style they came out with. Was great fun.

http://www.hubleykits.com/ Per above site, kits were first issued in 1959 and Indy racer was discontinued in 1961 so presumably ad was within that time-frame. |

There area bunch of the Hubley Kits on Ebay right now. I would get one, but I can better spend the $100 on parts for my car.

Re: The Model "A" scale models picture thread!
When I was a lot younger, I think I can recall a rather large scale, plastic model of a 28-29 ccpu. Monogram possibly but everyone I've talked to say they never heard of one. Am I dreaming? I've looked and could never find a large scale version.

Jack, I think your Model A pick up was by Entex. They did a CCPU, a telephone company truck variation, and a Panel Delivery. 1/16 scale if memory serves me.

That's correct, plus they did a Roadster and a Tudor sedan. I still have the Tudor that I built back in the 1970's and there have been some different variations over the years. At some point either the dies or the entire company was sold to Minicraft and they are still readily available online. Deron |

Re: The Model "A" scale models picture thread!
Minicraft now makes the 1/16th scale Model A's that were one time made by ENTEX. They ran into some licensing issues with Ford and stopped production for a while. Now they are back and licensed by Ford.
The previous ones by ENTEX are readily available on eBay. Shop around for a good price. Here is the link to the four that are currently available from Minicraft: http://www.minicraftmodels.com/Concourse2.htm On their web page, if you go to the page 1, they show the hot rod Model A models as well: http://www.minicraftmodels.com/Concourse1.htm Has anyone ever tried powering one of these and installing a remote control? Don't forget the Model A models by Franklin Mint, Danbury Mint, Motor City Classic's, AMT, Revell, Monogram, Liberty Classics, Inc or Spec Cast. Also, the Jim Beam Model A Series decanters.
