Carburetor Dripping:
I have 1940 with 59Ab engine. The carb is a 94 and I noticed after driving car and it sets for about 15 minutes it is hard to start.I looked down into carb and found it dripping gas on both sides.I did adjust the float but that did not seem to help. What else can I check or do?

Re: Carburetor Dripping:
The most likely cause is either a leak at the power valve gasket or a ruptured diaphram within the power valve.

Re: Carburetor Dripping:
two things, gas being boiled out of carb or the power valve is blown and leaking

Re: Carburetor Dripping:
It is probably the power valve has blown. Good luck. Jack

Re: Carburetor Dripping:
Look down the carb when it is running at idle to see if fuel is coming out of the nozzles. If not, the power valve should be alright and the float setting is not too high. Probably need to find a phenolic insulator to mount under the carb to isolate it from the hot manifold.

Re: Carburetor Dripping:
Could also be leaking needle valve. I had to revert to the old style steel tipped valves to cure leakage on my carbs. i also had the punctured float problem once, happened at the drags while waiting to run and knocked me out of the meet.
