I picked up 2 sets of points I ordered from Napa. They are made in USA! Have not installed a set yet, but they look good and only cost me $16.00 ea!! Time will tell the whole story.

Re: Made in USA original style points
I have used the points from Napa made in the USA for several years now, no problems, I would much rather pay $16 for the ones made in the US then a few $ for the ones made in China that just last a short time.
I also own a 1972 VW bug, just a few years ago you could buy bosch [sp] spark plugs made in Germany, I bought a set of plugs for it last week end and they were made in Russia [now that's a new one] .... But I'll have to say, they work just fine. But I hope you are right FORD3, made in the USA.

Re: Made in USA original style points
I hate to be the bearer of bad news, But the NAPA points are NOT actually Made In USA. They are made by Standard in Puerto Rico. Puerto Rico has a US Zip code so they can get away with it. Look at the address on the box it is the same for Standard, Ecshlin, Napa, CARQUEST ,and others. When they moved operations to Puerto Rico about 6 years ago they had major problems with quality. I had about 6 sets of points that were junk. I bought points from CARQUEST, Napa, Mac's, Yesteryear Ford, and Snyders, they were all from the same source. After talking to an engineer at Standard he looked into the problems I pointed out. A few weeks later he sent me 12 sets for free. I gave up rebuilding distributors for other people as I could not Guarantee the quality of the parts.

Re: Made in USA original style points
Jim Sinclair lives in WI and has excellent older NOS or NORS points and at a much lower price. I bought a few sets from Jim last year at the national meet.

Re: Made in USA original style points
The NY address is the same address as Standard Parts. Your points were made in Puerto Rico.

Re: Made in USA original style points
I figured the same. a few years ago someone listed parts numbers in one of of the national magazines for NAPA ignition parts for the model A. There was a NAPA store nearby so I ordered a bunch of parts to save on shipping. The parts cost several times more than parts from Snyders or Brattons. One of the rotors wouldn't even run on a model A. Usually local parts houses have a NO return policy on electrical parts. I've been running the same original style points from Brattons on my 31 tudor for 13-14 years with trouble free service.
