The Ford Barn

Hi all,

I just wanted to say hi and introduce myself on this board. Those of you who frequent the hamb may recognize me--i've been active there for a few years.

I'm currently driving a generic vehicle we won't mention here, but I'm in the process of resurecting a 33 ford pickup that was first built by my dad in the early 70's. It went through a house fire, was subsequently sold and then came home when i was 12. It's been bought and sold MANY times since then, but came home for the last time about 5 eyars ago. Long slow project this time.

I also just picked up a 35 ford 5 window as a future project.

Welcome. You will find all the help you need on this site. Some good and some bad, but the guys on the Fordbarn are generally quite qualified to give good advice.

I guess I should add that I'm not a newb to the hobby. I grew up around hot rods. Painted my first at 12 and have been through many since then. I ran a small rod shop for a few years and still do fabrication and paint work on the side--I run a regional history museum as a day job.

I'm always happy to find folks to share their knowledge. I'm consider myself pretty well versed in 35/36 fords, 32-34 Pickups and a number of cars that aren't pertinent to his board, but I'm always happy to learn more--can't wait to see what y'all have to offer.

Welcome to the Fordbarn. Plenty of good advice can be gotten or given here. Put some pictures of that '35 5W when you get a chance.

Yahoo!! Another roundy fender guy! Before I found this site,I knew just enough about flatheads and early Fords to get myself into trouble.I've worn out the search button but have learned much more than expected.If not for the nice and knowledgeable people on the Barn,my little coupe would still be in a pile of tattered boxes.Welcome

here's the 35 coupe I just picked up. not pictured is the basket case 36 cabriolet and 2 truck loads of fenders and misc parts for both. One's going to get sold--just not sure which one yet. the 5 window is really solid--it had new floor pans and a couple of patch panels put in in 1982. it was then squirted in a protective coat of laquer and tucked away in the back of the quonsit hut. the cabriolet is rough but repairable. I'll have pics of it in the next couple of days.

BTW--my dad's also a 35 guy. he's got a roadster, a 2 door sedan and a 3 window coupe.

here's quick shot of the cabriolet--it's rough, but I think still salvagable. And I MAY already have a buyer for the coupe. Have a buddy who sold a 40 willys last year and he's itching for another hot rod--guess we'll see.

Good to have another Ford fan in the barn. A lot of work there but half the fun is the build with the search for parts & information that goes with it.

tangled, I missed your post. pops sold the seden just before thanksgiving to buy a 63 falcon sprint convertible and a new knee for my mom, but the inheritance cars aren't going anywere--drop top's mine, 3 window for my sister :-) I'll see if I can find some digital photos. 3 window's in progress, getting new floor pans soon.

Yep, Welcome aboard, We don't mind OHV's so long as they're attached to a Flathead. We have a few Members with Arduns.
