Re: Why is there a need for an Adjustable Drag Link?
But is it the same alloy? Henry used good steel tailored to the task when he made the parts. Who knows what grade they make aftermarket parts out of? My dad had a little ChiCom lathe we always joked about it being cast in beach sand out of scrap iron.

Re: Why is there a need for an Adjustable Drag Link?
I know some were making them out of shortened Model A tie rods a while back.

another reason for an adjustable drag link: one end can be rotated to use on RHD cars

Re: Why is there a need for an Adjustable Drag Link?
Ford had some very good metallurgists when the Model T and Model A were being made. But there have been some advances in metallurgy over the years, especially in the case of metal fatigue. Not to say that people who make new parts for the Model A use this information.

Not stock, but if you use a reversed front main leaf or a dropped axle (even a slight 1" drop) you will need an adjustable drag link.
