Default Spell Checker

If you look in the upper right corner of your post you will see the Check Mark with the ABC above it. Use it to check you spelling before you post.

I looked and I don't have a check mark with ABC's on it in my right hand corner. I looked extra careful on the toolbar and there is all kinds of stuff but no spell check.

Why don't I have one if everybody else does? I want one too and I haven't done anything wrong. How come they all get one and I don't? Is it because I drive a Fordor and not a coupe, roadster, or Hack? I'm as good as they are and so is my car. This sucks! This is also off the point of Ford Barn and Model A's. Everybody should be treated the same whether they have a spell checker or not. This is about old Fords not spelling. Who cares if a guy, bless his heart, can't spell or knows the exact right name to call a part as long as we get the idea. IMHO

im probably asking for it now it would be also be helpful to include periods between sentences it is called punctuation its sometimes hard to understand without them commas can also be helpful to separate your thoughts sometimes i have no idea what people are writing capitalization is when the first letter of the first word of a sentence is upper case

ivory john,
Thanks for saying what I wanted to say...but couldn't spell it!
And, some don't know their left for there rite...as my spell check is on top LEFT..go figure. When youse are thinking of directing/instructing(other than model a stuff) please remember to not offend senses of other barners, as you may/probably not know their circumstances,eh! As an example, for months I had both hands messed with corrective surgery..four times..ergo, one finger typing. Dyslexia doesn't help either. How about ole timers, poor eyesight, etc on/on....get the point!
Now the silver lining....I found my spell check location...now to figer out how it works

Any one can wright a book or a pretty love letter using spell check ,
But it takes a special talent to keep an "A" model running .

I don't trust it at all,
I have caught it in two many misspelled words "on my own spelling" in the past .

Vince,

A couple of days ago the "ABC" spell checker disappeared on me also ... did not figure out why. Now it is back again.

Now it shows up in both "quick Reply" and "post reply"

Now I know why my mama wanted me to go to school. Now you engineers, mechanics, doctors, lawyers, scietists, entenproners, had better sharpen up, or no driving the Model A. 72 yrs of age, and I am still catching flack. Wait until somebody starts posting to Fordbarn using a electronic device such as a "smart phone" and "texting" the message. That's where the world is going......

Glenn,
If you can spell word's like "scietists and entenproners" you don't need no spell check no way .

I think it's the Message Editor Interface. Go to the User CP in the menu at top. Scroll down to and select Edit Options under Your Control Panel|Settings & Options. At the bottom of the page, set the interface to "Standard Editor..."

If this is set to "Basic Editor..." the spell checker doesn't show up for me.

Sh#@................I give up!There is not spell check on Ford Barn. It is a myth meant to embarrass us old folks. I tried Quick Reply, Advanced and couldn't change my basic edit cause I don't know where that is. To Hell with it!

Now, are the mud guards that mount on the bumper between the fender and the bumper an original feature or are they after-market? That is a real Model A Ford Barn question.

Anybody interested in answering? I'm kidding with my tone but I do want to know about the mud guards

With Firefox, spellchecker works. With my old browser that I normally use, it does not!

It works like "Word" by putting a red line under the misspelled word. There's no "ABC" in the corner. Ron W
