Re: 3" Shock Links 1940 Coupe
Attempt to locate NOS. They're around. The repops are "okay" at best.
3" on the rear of ALL '40 Ford passenger cars. 3" on the front if the car is NOT equipped with a factory sway bar. 4" on the front of all models when equipped with a factory sway bar.

Don't let anyone tell you other sizes than what I'd advised in post #3 are correct. Currently on eBay (item 284371784375) is a set of NOS 4" links for $55. If I were you, I'd grab them and quickly at that. Note these are service replacement parts and while NOS, they are not concourse correct. However, they are GREAT quality and to the untrained eye, "just right". There is a pair of 3" on eBay (item 273840620043) for $40. Fair enough.

Re: 3" Shock Links 1940 Coupe
I have found 4 what to be NOS Ford Script 3" shock links.
They appear to be very stiff. How stiff should they be? Is there a way the can be lubricated? What would you use to lubricate them that would not damage the rubber seals? Thanks for any help. Tom. Last edited by std1940; 07-23-2021 at 09:46 AM. Reason: spelling |

If you have a sway bar on your Ford V8, you must use 4" links... don't forget.

Mike,
These actually came from you. I just found them in my stash in a box from you dated 2013. Thanks Tom. |
