Magneto Condenser
I have been using the magneto condensers on both 12 volt negative ground distributor circuits and 6 volt positive ground circuits without a single failure in close to ten years.
Recently someone local had what sounds like a condenser failure or destruction on a 6 volt positive ground system, ‘41 Ford with a Dennis Carpenter coil. Is it possible that some of the newer magneto condensers are polarity sensitive? My condensers do not indicate a + or - on them. Has anyone run into this type of failure or know what might cause it? Thanks. |

Re: Magneto Condenser
I’ve got a standard ‘40 V8. Does this just replace the current one I have which is the NAPA 200.
Thx |

Re: Magneto Condenser
Carpenter is a great company and we are a dealer for them and refuse to stock their coils. But... their 37-41, and 42-48 for that matter coils will fail.. It's not a matter of if, but rather when...
