That is a very nice garage to work in. Mine is near 50 years old, single ply lumber and very little insulation so I run the furnace sparingly as the heat does not last long.
The temp shot up to +15F today so it was warm enough to work on and start the Merc. Although it was still stiff enough that I needed 12 volts to the solenoid to start it.

^^^^Great shot; dash cluster brings back memories of my Ford convert.

Last few nights have been in the 8 - 10 degree range, 32 in the garage. Unusual for
Pacific N.W. But this is the last of it. Rapid warming in the forecast will result in
flooding, due to 1 ft. of snow, that has been on the ground for about a week now.

If the temp rose to 32 in my shop (without running the furnace) it would be an unusual heat wave for January in SAsk. I put some video clips together of the weekend sunset drive in the Merc. Plus a little drone view (unfortunately minus the car). Next time maybe.

Golly gee - a short Merc ride in the cold North, a flight in the hovermobile, and got to check the moisture in the canola. Big day, thanks.

Jim, that's pretty cold for Anchorage, I lived there for a couple years and we saw minus 30 once.
Kinda expect it up here.
Supposed to warm up next week, might see +20, if it does I'll go out to the shed and pull that other carburetor for you.

Speaking of Fairbanks, I was stationed there at Ft. Wainwright in 1970 and '71 when they recorded the coldest day in modern history in Feb. of '71 at an actual -82F without the wind chill. We were outside moving trucks to a railroad dock that day. Had to use engine, transmission and battery gas heaters to get them going. Pretty sure it was Feb. Could have been Jan. '71.

Seems the tables have turned. We just had our second day of record breaking high temps in Sask. I saw +40 degrees. I could have worked on the Merc comfortably but as usual, when a mild spell hits I have a lot of catching up to do on other stuff.

I was out looking things over today , found that the ground frost heaved several places in my 4 year old paved driveway causing about 5 20-30 foot long cracks. I am bummed. That driveway and parking area cost me nearly 11K. I will have to figure out something to keep them from getting worse this summer, and try to seal the cracks with something that will seep down into the cracks, and not just lay on top like most driveway sealers. that -35 last night is the coldest it has been here since I had the driveway paved.
