Re: 1931 Delivery Wagon
Noticed that he drives it with the gas gauge on empty. Just about out because the gauge is still just barely floating. The amp gauge never did show a charge. Even at 15 MPH in second, the amp needle never budged. The windshield wiper hung straight down. If it was a vacuum wiper motor, the wiper would park to one side. If it was electic, one would turn it off to one side. A very pretty body with very excellent looking body work and paint.

Re: 1931 Delivery Wagon
The alternator finally kicked in just at the end of the vidio when the engine hit a higher RPM. I noticed as the engine reved it was misfiring, might be cold or need a carb adjustment. Pretty delivery tho.

Re: 1931 Delivery Wagon
The driver (salesman ?) never advanced the spark lever, and probably didn't know about or how to adjust the GAV..

Re: 1931 Delivery Wagon
It's a nice looking truck. BUT the engine number is a May 1931- The splash aprons are two piece1930 - The rear door handle is 1930- The radiator shell is 1930 ,It also has a 1931 Instrument panal. So what is it a 1930 or a 1931 but it stills a really nice truck. It looks like it is worth some where between 20 and 25 thousand dollars. Most of the items I mention are easy fixes. I believe it is a 1930 truck.

Re: 1931 Delivery Wagon
Wow A beautiful sedan delivery, Yes the inside should be painted Ford Commercial gray. and it needs skid strips. I do not believe any Deluxe delivery ever had cowl lights but it is always tempting top add during a restoration. If this can be bought between 20 to 25k I think it is a steal! You cannot restore it for that even if you do the work your self. What a beauty,
Ken |

Re: 1931 Delivery Wagon
Your right Ken , anyone who has restored a car to this level weather or not its correct for [fine point judging]or close ,,you can not restore it for $25,000. Just add up parts [restored] or even new will add to this amount. Add your cost for tires, tubes, valve stems, hub caps, lug nuts and restoring the 5 wheels ,sandblasting ,paint, prime and time. What does a complete running chassis cost today. $6000. / $7000. easy. And just the cost to buy the car before restoring it. $25,000 is a steal ,if this is what you are looking for.

Well said - great paint and body work.
Would love to use it as a camper! (don't hate me for it)...

Re: 1931 Delivery Wagon
Interesting, it sold for less than the first place loser bid in the first auction.
I wonder if he is upset? Bob |

Re: 1931 Delivery Wagon
A couple hundred bucks (2%) is not bad of a loss.
