Post For Sale, completely rebuilt 1951, 8BA Ford flathead engine and Automatic transmissio

City: Mandan
State: North Dakota
Price: $11,500

Hello, this sale is for a completely rebuilt 1951, 8BA Ford flathead engine and Automatic transmission. This engine has been completely rebuilt. Except for a radiator and electric fan this engine is ready to install and run, this sale is for the complete engine and test stand.

Engine Block: This started out as a very nice 1951 Ford flathead engine. Overall the engine block is in very nice condition. After disassembly, the block was hot tanked, oven cleaned and magnafluxed. Before any machine work the block was "tumbled" to remove any loose rust scale or casting sand in the water jackets, and all threaded holes were chased. Automotive Racing Products 154-4102 Cylinder Head Stud Kit, Exhaust valve seats were replaced with new hardened inserts for unleaded gas. Replaced the exhaust valve seats, and the cylinders were bored .040 oversize.

Rotating Assembly: The short block consists of an Eagle 10239400, 4.0000"stroke crankshaft, and Eagle 7000C3D Set, 7.000" H-Beam connecting rods. New Packard 4 ring pistons have been installed. Completing the short block are Hastings piston rings, Dura Bond F-1 camshaft bearings, and Clevite MS-109P main bearings and Clevite CB-15P rod bearings. Edelbrock Ford Flathead Cylinder Heads p/n 1115. Camshaft Lifters and Valvetrain: The camshaft is an Isky Racing Cams 811100 Max-1.
. This camshaft features .050 lift and 249 duration. Lifters in the engine are Packards adjustable. Engine Pro valves, valve springs and guides and spring retainers. Engine pro timing set 27278, The valve lash has been properly ground in and will provide many miles of trouble free quiet operation. Melling M-19 ford flathead oil pump, Fel-Pro gasket set FS-7525B.
This engine is equipped with an Tommy Thickstun V8 Intake Manifold. Atop the intake are matching pair Ford model 59 carburetors beautifully linkaged together.

Accessories: Distributor is from Bubba's Hot Rod Shop, 1970 Chevy distributor, King Chrome GM One Wire Alternator, 100 Amp, p/n 910-67102 12-volt. NAPA Coil p/n IC12, Thermostats 530080. SPEEDWAY "RED" Procom electronic High Performance 910-12801 fuel pump, new fuel and oil lines, belts. Spark plug are Autolite 3924, and Morosa ignition wire set, p/n OE6401, WIRE LOOMS. New water pumps are from Speed way motors.
The adaptor plate, Transmission-700R4, Torque Converter, Starter, Dip stick p/n T74494UL, Fly wheel cover came from Bendtsen’s Speed Gems Inc.

Test Run & Break In: After the rebuild the engine has been test run and the camshaft has been broken in. Total the engine has about 4 hours or run time on the test stand. During this time the heads have been re-torqued twice, and the engine was inspected for any leaks or problems.

Payment & Shipping: I would prefer local pickup on this engine if at all possible. I will ship the engine if you want me to. If the engine is shipped a $100.00 crating fee applies. I will charge actual truck freight and the engine must be shipped with insurance for the full purchase amount. If you have any questions about this engine feel free to e-mail [email protected] or call 701-989-0017. Thanks Rick I have many pictures of it.
