Northern Classic Trucks closing?
Just saw this on their web site but I don't know when it was posted. If true its too bad as they were a good source for Ford truck parts.
To All: "After 37 years in the business of making aftermarket truck parts for the 1935-79 Ford Trucks, we have decided to close our doors and retire. On that note, all inventory and tooling is for sale. Everything is sold on a first come first serve basis. Purchases must be paid on receipt of items. It has been a wonderful journey over these many years and leaving will be bitter sweet as we have met so many wonderful people in this great venture. We wish to thank each and everyone of you for the confidence you have had in us to make good quality parts for the old Ford Pickups." So thank you all very much, Todd and Barbara Murthum |

Re: Northern Classic Trucks closing?
That would really be a shame to lose another quality supplier of reproduction beds and parts. I bought a sub frame and front panel from them and the stuff is top notch!! I now wish I had the money to buy a complete bed for my F-1. They were very pleasant to deal with and worked with me to get the crate of parts to me. I can't say enough good about them.

Man that sucks, I'm getting close to ordering floor pans and such for my 46! Sounds like they are top notch people.

Re: Northern Classic Trucks closing?
Hi all; I've watching this trend everywhere.... Elderly business people with no back-up Family, interns , apprentises ect. Just close the business and walk away, to heck with 40-50 yrs of customers and the knowledge of the original business persons, and even their special parts manufacturing and tooling... just GONE. How often do the heirs bring in a scrap dumpster? I've seen it. Maybe our best direction is the V8 Ford Foundation, its' expanding like crazy. Newc

Re: Northern Classic Trucks closing?
Sad news indeed. I used their floor panels to repair my 46 cab and they were very good quality.

Re: Northern Classic Trucks closing?
Top notch parts for my '40 Ford pickup. Good people also. I toured his shop when I picked up my bed in 2003. Bad news for those who still have trucks to restore.

Re: Northern Classic Trucks closing?
Sir, responding to your comments, after 37 years of business we are NOT just walking away. The 38-50 Truck parts are in the process of being sold to Midwest Early Ford in Springfield, OH. Many of the other parts are in the process of being sold elseware.
The rest of the tooling is still up for sale as well as the remaining inventory while it lasts so that you may continue to have quality parts as well as good customer service. In these past years we have made many friends and have had the best time of my left. Todd |

Re: Northern Classic Trucks closing?
I hope there will be coordination and fellowship between the various folks that are able to buy up the tooling so we can still build a complete bed and other parts us truck collectors need. Best of luck to those that end up with this equipment and happy retirement as you enter this phase!

Re: Northern Classic Trucks closing?
Folks, it is disappointing to see NCT close up. For those of you that have early Ford Pickup projects needing sheet metal there is Mac Hils Products in Moberly, Missouri. They also have the dies and tooling and make their sheet metal in house. Great stuff. I am a past customer.

Re: Northern Classic Trucks closing?
Thanks for your comment. I still have a 9 foot stake bed left. I don't have it listed on our website.

Re: Northern Classic Trucks closing?
Would you happen to have any pictures of the 9 ft. stake bed? And a price $?

Midwest Early Ford is having the 38-50 truck parts, Could you clarify if that means the tooling for those parts are also going to Midwest Early Ford? Thanks for years of service, good luck in your retirement. Martin. |
