cleaning isenglass
Need some help trying to figure out the best way to clean isinglass, (plastic used in some side curtains. I may have the wrong term, but is what I remember from working in the marine industry. They use that plastic for soft top windows. Thank you.

Re: cleaning isenglass
go to your local Harley-Davidson dealer and buy the Novus plastic cleaner/polisher that they sell for cleaning the plastic windshields. this stuff is great. I use it on my Harley's and on the side curtains on my river boat.---Jim

Re: cleaning isenglass
I second the Novus products. There are three grades 1 for scratches that are noticeable, 2 for minor scratches and3 for keeping the plastic clean and polished. We use it on the enclosure on our boat all the time.

Re: cleaning isenglass
I'm another Pledge user - been using it on plastic windows in convertible tops since the 60's. I've never looked for another product, so I'd guess the newer, more 'designated' products work too.
For scratches, I use MetAll. Sometimes toothpaste, too. |

Re: cleaning isenglass
I'll third the Novus products. I ran a couple of auto parts stores for a few years and their products are the best. Still haven't found anything better. Works great on any clear plastic such as Lexan as well.

Re: cleaning isenglass
On my motorcycle I use Mothers plastic polish If I have small scratches. Also use it on my newer car when the head light lens start to get yellow. Then I use Original Spray Cleaner & Polish to keep the windshield clean.

Re: cleaning isenglass
Thank you for all your responses. I tried some Rainex headlight cleaner I had on hand for the new junk headlight lenses, and it did a great job. Great for Issenglass, lousy for headlights.
