Default Mystery Car Part Not Model A but Could Be

This isn't a Model A, but the part could be useful on some Model A's.

In all the years I've worked on cars, new and old, this is the first time I've seen one of these, or ever heard of one. Has anyone seen a part like the black metal container to the right of the horn, and do you know what it is?

Bruce and Dudley nailed it right away. It's an accessory remote filler and added reservoir for the master cylinder on cars with the master cylinder under the floorboards. Could be a handy accessory for those Model A's that have switched to juice brakes.

Before I bought this 1950 Studebaker, I'd never seen nor heard of such an accessory.
I like things pretty much stock, but since it's already on, I'll leave it on.

Ya...Bruce beat me out.....I was looking up the correct way to spell "reservoir"!
Or, it could be that Bruce doesn't know how to spell it, either....lol

VW's and Porsche's have been using remote reservoir since the 40's. Very common in cars.
