Default Installing a 42-8 Lincoln OD trans in a 40 Ford.

I,m looking at putting a Lincoln OD trans in my 40 Convert.
Other than shortening the torque tube/driveshaft,fabbing a trans mount and clearancing the center of the x member for solenoid clearance, are there any other problems I can expect to run into?
Thanks

I have one in my '40 Ford .
Take 13" out of the torque tube & driveshaft, a little nibble here, a small slice there and it just about falls in. Enjoy.

Did it twice, once with a torch and once with a bare frame and carefully removed the box in the center of the X. Tied the X back together With a couple of plates. Ended up selling the car because the frame lacked rigidity and handled the OHV power badly. Would be even worse with a convert. The ratios were great with a torque motor and 4.11. All depends on your engineering standards. Still have a couple of those transmissions and extra ODs. There must be a better place to use them than my '40, Good Luck: Fred A
