Tire size for General Jumbo wheels

I have an opportunity to purchase some 16" X 6" 5 lug General Jumbo wheels. What is the recommended tire size for these wheels. I've searched the web and was unable to find the information. I want to get a total cost per wheel with tire and tube to see if it's worth the cost. Unfortunately they come without caps but I've located the adapter rings so am adding that cost into the per wheel figure.

I would like to put them on my 34 Roadster. Roady is bone stock but I would like to personalize her with black wheels and red pin stripe to match her body.
